Can press-on nails damage the natural nail bed?

If press-on nails are properly applied or removed, the natural nail bed should not be damaged in any way. In case the nails are poorly attached, there may be chipping, into which water may seep, and if the nails are left in this condition for a longer period of time, mold may form. The nail can also detach unintentionally, which can damage the natural nail bed.
